School Uniform

Introduction

At Euroclass Visionary Academy, we pride ourselves in being smart, well presented and ready for learning. It is our school policy that all children wear school uniforms when attending school, or when participating in school-organised events outside normal school hours. We ask male pupils to wear their shirts tucked into their shorts or trousers and fimale pupils to wear their gown over their shirts and to take a pride in their personal appearance. All items of uniform can be bought from the school at affordable prices.

School uniform is compulsory.

  • Engenders a sense of belonging towards the school
  • Is practical and smart
  • Identifies the children with the school
  • Prevents children from coming to school in fashionable clothes that could be distracting in class
  • Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
  • Is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money by most parents

Our school has a duty to make sure that the uniform we require is affordable. Prohibitions

Jewellery:

On health and safety grounds, we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. The exceptions to this rule are earring studs in pierced ears, and small objects of religious significance. We ask the children to either remove these objects during PE and games, or cover them with a plaster (provided by the parent), to prevent them from causing injury

Footwear:

We require all children to wear black sensible footwear i.e. shoes. Heels, boots or open toe sandals are not allowed to be worn within the school premises. Trainers can be worn in PE lessons.

The role of parent/carer:

We ask all parents/carers who send their children to our school to support the school uniform guidance. We believe that parents have a duty to send their children to school correctly dressed and ready for their daily schoolwork. One of the responsibilities of parents is to ensure that their child has the correct uniform, and that it is clean and in good repair.

Provision of second-hand uniforms

Second-hand uniforms can benefit all parents, particularly those on low incomes. In addition, by extending the life of garments, it is more sustainable. Euroclass Visionary Academy will ensure that arrangements will be in place in the nearest future so that second-hand school uniforms are available for parents to acquire.
